India Day 2007

India Day was organized by the Indian student here at UVA and was held at the tried and tested Martin Luther King auditorium. it was not was crowded as i remember it being a few year ago, but an OK turn out none the less. I have two words for the organizers thought: Sound Check.
What could have been a well made and funny snippet at the beginning, was marred by the God awful sound system.
The bharatnatyam was a snooze fest and the medley of film songs seemed like a case of A.D.D. I know they tried to cram in as many songs in, but it was just too much too soon too fast.
The guys who played the musical instruments were really talented, but fellas, please do not sing hindi songs, not with your pathetic accents! next time, just stick to playing.
The girl who sang the U.S. national anthem was awesome, definitely A.I. material.
All in all it was an enjoyable event, but not great enough to make me stay till the end :( ( even though there were fewer than 50 bhangra performance this time :)
